Damascus, Feb. 11 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar said coordination with Saudi Arabia, particularly with the Ministry of Investment, is ongoing to implement joint projects serving both countries’ interests and supporting regional development.
Al-Shaar told SANA the initiatives are expected to strengthen infrastructure and stimulate growth in key sectors, including aviation, telecommunications, water, industry and education. He also welcomed a recent statement by the Saudi Council of Ministers praising Syrian efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The minister expressed appreciation for the Saudi Ministry of Investment’s role in preparing and coordinating strategic projects and contracts, noting that a recent Saudi delegation visit to Damascus marked a step toward implementing agreements.
Syria and Saudi Arabia recently signed a package of contracts covering aviation, telecommunications, infrastructure, water and real estate development, laying the groundwork for a new phase of economic cooperation.
