Gulf capitals, March 6 (SANA) – Kuwait and Qatar said on Friday that their air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles and drones during attacks targeting the two Gulf countries.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said its air defenses shot down 12 Iranian drones over the north and center of the country and 14 missiles in the south. Two additional missiles fell outside the threat zone, while debris from interceptions caused limited material damage.
The ministry stressed that Kuwaiti forces remain fully prepared to confront any threats and safeguard the country’s security, sovereignty and national interests.
In Qatar, the Ministry of Defense said the country had been targeted by ten Iranian drones since early morning, adding that air defenses successfully intercepted nine of them, while the remaining drone struck an uninhabited area without causing casualties.
Qatar’s armed forces reaffirmed their readiness to protect the country’s sovereignty and respond decisively to any external threats.
Iran has continued launching missile and drone attacks against several Gulf states following the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
