Syria’s Minister of Economy and Industry with Raqqa Governor

Damascus, March. 3 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, met on Tuesday with Raqqa Governor, Abdulrahman Salamah to review the current state of the industrial and artisanal sectors in the governorate and explore ways to develop them.

During the meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, the two sides agreed to begin studying the establishment of a fully integrated industrial city and a regulated artisanal zone to accommodate expansion in production activities, organize workshops, and improve the investment environment in line with local development plans.

The meeting also approved the creation of a cement plant in Raqqa, a strategic step aimed at supporting the construction sector, meeting local market needs, creating new job opportunities, and enhancing the governorate’s economic cycle.

Minister al-Shaar previously told SANA that government institutions are committed to supporting the reconstruction of Raqqa and strengthening its economic and service infrastructure following its liberation.
