Enhancing economic cooperation between Syria and Belarus discussed

Homs, SANA- Means of enhancing economic, trade and industrial cooperation between Syria and Belarus were discussed by Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi and Belarusian Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Ponomarev on Sunday.

In a press statement following the meeting, al-Barazi pointed out to the growing Syrian-Belarusian relations, hailing Belarus’ role in supporting the Syrian economy and its active contribution to rebuilding Syria and securing its needs.

For his part, Ponomarev made it clear that his visit to Homs came to express Belarus’ support to the steadfast city which suffered from terrorism and exposed to large-scale terrorist attacks, expressing his country’s full readiness to contribute to rebuilding it.

Ponomarev praised the scientific cooperation between the two countries, pointing out that the newly opened technical and scientific cooperation center at al-Baath University will be a base for the scientific development.

He also expressed his country’s readiness to provide expertise for those graduated from the center.

Among the issues discussed by the Syrian and Belarusian sides were establishing a factory to collect and product trucks and contracting with two companies to import the pasteurized and powdered milk in addition to benefitting from Belarus’ experience in the field of construction.
