Tehran, SANA-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, received on Wednesday Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bassam Sabbagh, as talks dealt with means of developing bilateral relations between the two countries which have strategic relations and cooperation in many fields.
Minister Sabbagh conveyed the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to President Pezeshkian and an invitation to visit Syria, stressing that the joint efforts of the two countries focus on opening new horizons for cooperation between the two sides in the interests of countries of the region.
Sabbagh said the two countries face common challenges represented by the US attempts to dominate the region and the endeavors to change the political map, stressing the necessity of confronting these attempts to ensure the security and stability of the region and its peoples.
President Pezeshkian, for his part, stressed the keenness of the Islamic Republic of Iran on developing and deepening relations with Syria in various fields, noting in this regard the importance of intensifying mutual visits between officials of the two countries in a way that serves their common interests.
The President also conveyed his greetings to President al-Assad, expressing his thanks for the invitation to visit Syria, and promised to respond it as soon as possible.
