Harvesting 4 thousand hectares of cotton in Hasaka province

Hasaka, SANA-Directorate of Agriculture of Hasaka said on Wednesday, that the harvested area of cotton crop in the province amounted to some 4,000 hectares as farmers continue harvesting processes.

Head of the Plant Production Department at the Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, stated to a SANA reporter that the quantities produced from the harvested areas are estimated at about 13 thousand tons.

He expects the harvesting operations to end at the beginning of next month.

The area planted with cotton for the current season in Hasaka Province amounted to 4,775 hectares, with an estimated production of 18,850 tons.
