Khabirov: Hostile western attitude against Syria and Russia linked to colonial approach

Moscow, SANA- Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan stressed that the antagonistic Western attitude against Syria, Russia and their friends is completely and closely connected to the Western colonial approach based on the policy of containment and hegemony.

Khabirov pointed out that the sanctions and coercive measures imposed by the West are only a major part of this approach condemned by the majority of the world’s peoples.

“This hostile attitude has been supported only by so few nations that still represent the ancient colonial world and all allegations and claims made by these States are contrary to truth and reality”, Khabirov said in an interview with the SANA correspondent in Moscow, articulating that Western powers have been repeatedly imposing sanctions on Russia since 2014 and have doubled these coercive measures after the decision to launch a special military operation in Ukraine.

Khabirov noted that the Western powers, led by the United States, are working to supply money and weapons to the fascist and neo-Nazi regimes to fuel hostility against Russia, Syria and other independent countries.

He stressed that imposing sanctions and restrictions on the peoples of Syria and Russia contradicts the principles of the United Nations and the purposes of international and international humanitarian law.
