Beijing, SANA- With the participation of Syria, the activities of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off on Monday, which is being held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th, 2024.
“The Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade in cooperation with the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets, organized the Syrian participation for the first time within the activities of this exhibition with a pavilion with an area of 132 square meters, including representatives from the public and private sectors. The Syrian pavilion was distinguished by the participation of the Ministry of Tourism through 7 tourism companies and 5 leading Syrian companies in the field of food industries, olive oil, natural oils, natural cosmetics and soap” Director of Local Production and Export Support and Development Authority, Thaer Fayyad, said.
Fayyad pointed out that this participation is the first of its kind to be sponsored by the government, after it was previously individual participation from the private sector, indicating the importance of participation in the exhibition as it constitutes an opportunity to display the products of Syrian companies and promote their trademarks.
It is noteworthy that Syria participated “virtually” in the exhibition in its fifth session in 2022, and the participation included promotional photos and videos for a selection of food and medical products and various handicrafts.
