Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad will pay an official visit to the Czech Republic on April 20- 22 during which he will hold talks with a number of Czech officials.
The Czech Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Monday that Mikdad will meet Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Andrej Babis, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek and Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mladek.
Meetings will also be held in the Economic Chamber and in the Industry and Transport Association.
The statement added that Mikdad will hold talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivo Sramek and Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Martin Tlaba, noting that these talks will be continuation of the talks held with Tlaba in Damascus in November.
The ministry said that the visit will contribute to implementing the UN Security Council resolutions regarding Syria and is due to discuss how to intensify the Czech humanitarian support in cooperation with the Czech Embassy in Damascus and supporting the Syrian- Syrian dialogue in Geneva.
Mikdad’s visit to the Czech Republic comes five months after the visit paid by Deputy Czech Foreign Minister Martin Tlaba to Damascus in November during which he discussed with the Syrian officials the latest developments in Syria and the importance of partnership in combating terrorism.
