Mikdad: Syrian government is making significant efforts to strengthen national economy

Cairo, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister in the caretaker government, Fayssal Mikdad said that the Syrian government is making significant efforts to strengthen the national economy and achieve a significant improvement in the economic situation in Syria through a number of actions aimed at supporting local production and developing business environment.

Mikdad’s remarks came during a dialogue meeting with a group of Syrian businessmen residing in Egypt during his presence in Cairo to participate in the 162nd session Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

Mikdad referred to the directives of President Bashar Al-Assad to the government on the necessity of charting real paths for developing the economic affair, including an analysis of the problems and ways to solve them through reviewing the economic policies aimed at supporting the recovery and development process, and preparing strategies that contribute to supporting the production process in a sustainable manner.

Mikdad pointed out the promotion of investment opportunities and partnerships with the private sector, especially in the fields of industry and energy.

He also listened to proposals from businessmen on ways to attract Syrian capital, and integrate the investment projects they are establishing in Egypt with the revival of their projects in Syria.

for their part, the businessmen praised the economic strategies recently introduced by President al-Assad on various national occasions, and they stressed that theses strategies will be an integral part of the economic reform process whose directions have been set by President al-Assad.
