Abdullahian: Tehran and Moscow will make every possible effort to solve the crisis in Syria

Moscow, SANA – Iran’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdullahian said Tehran and Moscow will make every possible effort to solve the crisis in Syria.

Speaking in a press conference held in Moscow on Tuesday, Abdullahian added that both countries intend to employ their full capabilities side by side with Syria until it gets out of its crisis.

He described the talks he held on Monday with the Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as “constructive”.

He pointed out that Iran received from President Bashar al-Assad “interesting” suggestions and ideas about the settlement in Syria, adding that his country supports any political initiative to be implemented in parallel with combating terrorism in the region.

Abdullahian stressed that President al-Assad will be part of the political settlement for the crisis in any political initiative.
