Moscow, SANA- Syria and Russia discussed on Tuesday developments in the region, aggression of Israeli occupation on the Palestinians, and its repeated attacks on Syrian and Lebanese territory.
That came during a meeting that brought together Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Bassam Sabbagh, Special Representative of Russian President for Middle Eastern and African Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin in Moscow.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in the region, in light of the brutal and unprecedented act of aggression by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and crimes of genocide it has been committing for 53 days, in addition to the repeated aggression on the Syrian and Lebanese territories, the latest of which was on Damascus Airport.
Sabbagh underscored the necessity to immediately stop the aggression, allow providing the humanitarian aid for Palestinians, reject all attempts to liquidate the just Palestinian cause, and ensure the Palestinian legitimate rights.
They also discussed the importance of ongoing cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, the necessity of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and putting an end to the illegitimate presence of foreign forces on its territory.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Sousan, and Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari.
