President al-Assad issues law establishing Ministry of Communication and Information Technology

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad issued on Monday Law No. 25 for 2024, which stipulates establishing Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to replace the Ministry established in 2013.

The law aims to keep up with the rapid global developments in the telecommunication, postal and information technology sector, enable the Ministry to implement the state’s general policy in this sector, modernize its functions, and use the modern technologies and its specializations in data science.

The newly created ministry will assume responsibility for regulating the communications, postal and information technology sectors.
