Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed forces, President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas paid a field visit to a number of military combating formations in the southern region.
During the visit, Abbas met the army personnel in their positions, and conveyed President al-Assad’s congratulations on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha with wishes for them and their families for good health and wellness.
The Defense Minister inspected the readiness of the military formations there and lauded the high morale of the army personnel.
Abbas was briefed by field commanders on the detailed explanation of nature of the missions assigned to them, and stressed that the achievements made by our armed forces in the fight against terrorism will remain a guarantee of our people’s steadfastness in the future.
Major General Abbas also inspected a number of frontlines points and praised their readiness, and stressed that our valiant army, which has fought many battles on wide fronts across the country and confronted terrorist will not hesitate to fight any battle against any enemy.
For their part, the army personnel underlined that they will always remain loyal to their homeland.
Later, Minister Abbas visited the Tishreen Military Hospital and met with the wounded and congratulated them on the Eid, wishing them and their families good health.
Also on this occasion, the commanders of the military regions visited the cemeteries of the martyrs and placed wreaths on behalf of President al-Assad at memorials there and recited verses of Quran for the rest of their souls.
