Hama/Damascus, SANA – The Criminal Security Department in Hama arrested on Wednesday a network for trafficking in drugs and counterfeit currency in Hama city.
A source at Hama Police Command told SANA’s reporter that the personnel of Hama Criminal Security Department raided a hideout in al-Hamidyia neighborhood in Hama city based on investigations and information indicating the existence of counterfeit currency and a number of youths who push drugs.
The source added that 500 pills of Captagon and an amount of Hashish and counterfeit currency were seized inside the hideout, and that 7 persons that had been pushing drugs and counterfeit currency have been arrested.
Investigations with the gang’s members are still underway to reach the rest of the network’s members in order to prosecute them, according to the source.
On a relevant note, the Narcotics Department of the Interior Ministry arrested two drug dealers in Damascus and seized 10 kg of hashish which were hidden inside the car they were driving.
