CBS obliges exchange companies to sell foreign exchange to people for non-commercial purposes

Damascus, SANA-Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) Duraid Dergham ordered the exchange companies operating in Syria to sell foreign exchange to people for non-commercial purposes.

The order also placed restrictions on the exchange companies that they should commit to when they sell foreign exchange to people from their own resources.

The order stipulated that the exchange companies sell foreign exchange to people for non-commercial purposes while the importers and traders have to buy the foreign exchange for commercial purposes from licensed banks.

The rule said that all necessary measures will be taken against the companies that will not comply with it.
