Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Justice announced on Saturday that the status of a number of detainees from Damascus and various provinces was settled.
Justice Minister Najm Hamad al-Ahmad said in a statement that this move comes within the context of the government’s plan to enhance reconciliation, national unity and tolerance and moving towards the country’s restoring security and stability, particularly after the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in Aleppo and the amnesty decree issued by President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday.
Minister al-Ahmad said that the settlement of the detainees’ status gives a chance back to those who were misled to be useful members in society, noting that those who have their status settled are not involved in bloodshed, but they more or less were misled.
In turn, head of the national reconciliation commission in the People’s Assembly Mohammad Khair-Eddin al-Sayed said that the victories achieved by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army in confronting armed terrorist organizations play an important role in achieving national reconciliation, restoring security and stability to many villages and towns and clearing them from terrorists.
The past few months witnessed the settlement of status of many wanted persons in various provinces after pledging to commit to defending the country and not to commit anything that would breach the security and integrity of the homeland.
