Humanitarian aid arrives to Hasaka and Daraa provinces

Hasaka/Daraa, SANA– A new aircraft carrying assistance sent from the World Food Program (WFP) arrived on Friday into Qamishli Airport in Hasaka Province via an air lift that transfers food assistance through Damascus International Airport.

Head of WFP in Qamishli Afaa Noah told SANA that the assistance included food and supply materials, in addition to family tents, lamps and 1500 water cylinders.
WFP plan has started since the 9th of the current month and is aimed at delivering 30 food baskets through air lift.

In a similar context, Daraa Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous said that a humanitarian aid convoy entered Nawa city in the northwestern countryside of Daraa in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN affiliated organizations.

In a statement to SANA, al-Hannous pointed out that the convoy consists of 44 trucks loaded with different food and relief materials, stressing that the Governorate has not stopped supplying those who are in need for relief in the Province with the required materials as it provides them individually for each family, adding that thousands of food baskets are now given collectively to Nawa’s residents.

For his part, Head of SARC in Daraa, Ahmad al-Masalma pointed out that the aid is meant to reach thousands of citizens in Nawa city, noting that SARC teams will accompany the trucks after passing the villages of Tebna and al-Qnia until reaching Nawa.
