Ryabkov: Doubts about declared goals of humanitarian operation in Aleppo baseless

Moscow, SANA- Russia rejected as”baseless” all doubts about the declared goals of the humanitarian operation led by the Russian and Syrian forces in Aleppo last Thursday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned in a statement on Friday that the US dubious statements regarding the declared goals of the humanitarian operation in Aleppo came in the framework of a new attempt for playing a political game rather than helping end the humanitarian issues.

“Our American partners, due to their own stagnancy and suspiciousness toward Russia, are beginning to attribute some nonexistent designs to us. We are pursuing the ends that have been declared -not more but not less,” Ryabkov said.

For his part, Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov said that there no reasons for doubting the humanitarian goals of the humanitarian operation in Aleppo.

On Thursday, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu stressed that the Syrian and Russian forces launched a wide-scale humanitarian operation in Aleppo to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the eastern neighborhood of the city.

Earlier, the Syrian Army General Command, using mobile messages to citizens, specified safe corridors for the citizens in the eastern neighborhoods of the city to go out of them and makeshift centers for those who desire to go out of the city, calling on the gunmen to lay down their weapons in order to have their situations settled.
