Health Ministry discusses with UNFPA enhancing mutual cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Health Minister Nizar Yazigi discussed on Sunday with Massimo Diana, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Syria means to enhance cooperation between both sides and developing health services, mainly reproductive health.

The minister affirmed the need to activate the signed agreements between the Syrian Health Ministry and the UNFPA to enhance health care and support the health sector in Syria, noting the importance of promoting coordination between the ministry and international organizations operating in the humanitarian and health sector.

For his part, Diana pointed out that the UNFPA is keen to expand its cooperation with the health ministry in the fund’s future plans and projects, particularly in health care and reproductive health.
