Information Minister: ARABSAT decision to stop al-Manar broadcasting “politicized and unfair”

Damascus, SANA- Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi described a decision by ARABSAT to stop broadcasting Lebanese al-Manar TV Channel as “politicized and violation of the contracts signed with ARABSAT Administration.”

Al-Zoubi, In a phone call with al-Manar, said that such kind of decisions are expected by the company , dominated by the Saudi regime, which has previously stopped broadcasting the national official media via ARABSAT.

ARABSAT has stopped broadcasting Lebanon’s al- Manar television channel, with the Beirut-based station condemning the move as an attempt to stifle the voice in the face of oppression.

In a statement published on its website on Friday, al-Manar said the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ASCO) blocked the broadcast of the news channel via the ARABSAT satellite.

The Minister pointed out that Israel celebrates the blocking of the channel via ARABSAT which is an evidence that this decision is unfair, oppressive, dishonest and immoral.
