Damascus, SANA – Ministry of Information organized Tuesday evening a ceremony to honor media institutions and figures and TV drama makers who won awards for special productions.
Editor and translators Rasha Milhem and Imad Deghli from the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) were honored for winning the Best News Item Award given by the Alliance for Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).
SANA Director General Ahmad Dawa, who received the award certificates for Milhem and Deghli at AMAN ceremony in Sharm el-Sheikh on October 13, was honored in SANA’s name during yesterday’s ceremony in Damascus.
The Information Ministry also honored Talaqie TV channel that broke Guinness record for longest TV talk show after broadcasting a talk show titled “From Syria with Love” for 70 hours and 5 minutes last year.
The General Establishment for Television and Radio Production was honored for a TV drama series and al-Ikhbariya TV channel was honored for “The Citizen’s Authority” show.
Representatives of various TV productions, including shows and TV drama series, were also honored at the ceremony, in which Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban participated.
Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi delivered a speech during the ceremony in which he expressed deep pride in the winning journalists and actors and drama makers, vowing more support for those and their colleagues.
He hailed the relentless efforts of all the official media institutions that have been fighting tooth and nail against all odds to bring their best and challenge the tendentious media involved in the war against Syria.
