Beijing, SANA- China reiterated support for political solution to the crisis in Syria, applauding the positive results reached at the expanded meeting held in the Austrian capital of Vienna and the joint statement released after it.
“China is always committed to a political solution to the Syria issue….We are ready to continue working with the international community to seek more consensus in pursuit of a political solution to the Syria issue,” Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said Sunday.
She added that the “political process will be Syrian led and Syrian owned, and the Syrian people will decide the future of Syria.”
On Friday, representatives of some major countries and regional players agreed in a meeting in Vienna, after hours of talks, that a diplomatic process should be initiated for the crisis in Syria.
