Baghdad, SANA – Iraqi President Fuad Masum reiterated the stances of his country on the need to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria, defeat terrorism and restore peace and security to the country.
The Iraqi presidency said, in a statement made on Tuesday that President Masum met Syria’s ambassador in Iraq Sattam Jada’an al-Dandah who conveyed a message from President Bashar al-Assad in response to the Iraqi President’s letter sent in Eid al-Adha, hoping that international efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria would succeed.
The Syrian Ambassador, for his part, reiterated the importance of Syrian-Iraqi cooperation and coordination on all levels.
