Volunteer team organizes Iftar banquet in honor of electric power workers

Damascus, SANA – The volunteer team “Syria Brings Us Together” organized an Iftar banquet for workers in the electric power sector in appreciation for their hard work and sacrifices.

Head of the team’s board of directors Rami al-Halabi lauded the great efforts exerted by workers in the power sector and the sacrifices they made throughout the duration of the war waged against Syria.

Assistant Electricity Minister Nidal Qarmousheh said that terrorist attacks on power sector facilities and networks failed to dissuade the staff of the Ministry from carrying out their duties and keeping the power grids working, and that many workers gave their lives while others suffered injuries to keep this sector going.

A number of the workers attending the banquet asserted that they will keep carrying out their duties no matter the risks or dangers they face.
