Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka Governorate received on Monday 8000 food packages provided by the World Food Program (WFP) to be distributed to families in need in the province.
Issam Hussein, director of the Social Affairs Department in Hasaka told SANA reporter that the food packages that arrived in the province on Monday are part of 58000 food packages dedicated to the province, noting that every package weighs 60 kilograms.
Hussein added that 40 tons of yeast would be provided to bakeries in addition to 20000 boxes of peanut butter to be distributed to children of needy families.
Hussein emphasized that the quantities received would be distributed through the main distribution outlets of the relief subcommittee to displaced families who were affected by the terrorist attacks and the families coming from other provinces according to the relief plan.
WFP distributed about 16000 food packages to needy families in Hasaka province last July.
