Science Olympiad Teams wraps up a forum activities

Damascus, SANA- The National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad has concluded the preparatory scientific forum for the Syrian Science Olympiad teams, who will participate in the upcoming international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics due to be held in July.

Head of the Commission Imad al-Azeb told SANA that the three-week forum embraced about 100 male and female youths of Syrian national scientific teams, who came from different provinces, and it was similar to a closed camp providing theoretical and practical training to help the students achieve the best possible results in the international Olympiads.

Al-Azeb hoped Syrian Science Teams will achieve an effective presence in the competitions of the international Olympiads.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) will be held in Thailand from July 3rd to 15th, the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in India from July 5th to 12th, the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) form July 20th to 29th in Azerbaijan, the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) from 12th to 19th July in Denmark and the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) from July 26th to August 2nd in Kazakhstan.

Last month, the National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad launched a preparatory scientific forum at the Martyrs’ Daughters Schools in Damascus to qualify and train the Syrian Science Olympiad teams for the upcoming international competitions.
