The workshop, organized by the Fine Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Institute of Applied Arts, aims at supporting children with special needs and facilitating their integration into society.

This is helped through getting those children engaged with their beers in joint activities in order to build their abilities and develop their skills to become active members in the society, according to Director of Fine Arts Departments Imad Kas’hout.

He told SANA that this year’s workshop, which is an annual event, sees the participation of 25 kids with special needs from a number of civil associations, in addition to 15 school children aged 8-11.

The children will be practicing drawing under the supervision of a number of graduates from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Institute of Applied Arts, Kah’sout added.

Rana Hussein of the Fine Arts Department told SANA that this workshop is designed to be an interactive social activity with the aim of enhancing the children’s drawing skills on one hand and boosting the spirit of partnership, cooperation and friendship among children on the other hand.

The participants’ artistic pieces will be displayed at an exhibition that will be held at the end of the workshop, which will last until May 28.
