Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi met on Monday Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All East Gregory III Laham and a delegation of religious figures.
During the meeting, al-Halaqi said that the attempts by Syria’s enemies to incite strife and spread Takfiri mentality and division among Syrians have failed thanks to the unity of the Syrians, stressing that no terrorist mentality can fragment the social fabric of Syria with its heritage and history of coexistence and tolerance.
He lauded the stances of religious figures who helped strengthen society in the face of terrorism and who bolstered the spirit of reconciliation, compassion, and forgiveness.
For his part, Patriarch Laham voiced confidence that Syria will remain a symbol of religious fraternity, coexistence, and tolerance, and that it will emerge victorious and become stronger than ever.
