Damascus, SANA-Damascus University honored the ten top students who won in the 7th University Students’ Mathematics Olympiad 2015.
Rector of Damascus University Mohammad Hassan al-Kurdi said, during honoring ceremony Monday, that the university had set an integrated plan of distinguished programs to support the winners in the Olympiad who will be responsible for developing their experiences and knowledge in order to upgrade the research and applied reality at the university.
Al-Kurid affirmed that the university will exert all possible efforts to develop the talents of the innovators and to benefit from their experience, describing the winners as “national treasure.”
For his part Head of Mathematics Department at Damascus University, and Head of the Olympiad Scientific Committee, Abdul-Latif Hananou said that the Olympiad sheds light on the necessity of investing knowledge in solving scientific problems.
Hananou indicated that the Olympiad achieved a great success in its first and second stages.
