Damascus, SANA- With Arab and foreign participation, the 3rd international scientific conference organized by the Institute of Regional Planning kicked off on Wednesday in Reda Saeed Conference Hall at Damascus University under the title “The Role of Regional Planning in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals and within Artificial Intelligence Applications.”
The two-day conference participants will discuss a number of topics including regional natural resources development, environmental protection, regional infrastructure planning and services, integrated regional studies, design, coordination and planning of parks and natural surroundings, urban engineering, sustainable urban development, regional structural urban planning, regional logistics planning, and regional human, economic and social development.
The conference includes many workshops and projects at the national level, and 86 peer-reviewed research papers will be presented by the conference’s arbitration committees composed of local and international professors.
Specialists and experts from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Sudan, Mauritania, Italy, France, Britain and Denmark are participating in the conference, as well as 32 articles from Arab and European universities have been accepted for publication in the Damascus University Journal.
The conference is distinguished by the participation of Syrian youth teams through interactive scientific workshops on the role of Syrian youth in regional planning under the supervision of the National Union of Syrian Students.
