Ways to launch financial relations with Germany discussed

Damascus, SANA- Ways to launch joint financial relations between Syria and Germany and strengthen them in all areas have been discussed.

That came during a meeting Wednesday that brought together Finance Minister, Mohammad Abazid and a delegation from the German Foreign Ministry, headed by Bjorn Gehrmann.

Minister Abazid welcomed the German delegation, which arrived in Syria on a visit that is considered one of the first visits by German delegations after the victory of the Syrian revolution.

Abazid affirmed Syria’s readiness to launch diplomatic and financial relations with Germany.

For his part, Gehrmann expressed happiness with the warm welcome after Germany’s absence from Syria for about 13 years.

“We will reopen the German embassy in Syria and launch and establish German diplomatic relations with Syria again,”Gehrmann said.

Gehrmann added that he has a set of questions and messages that he will discuss with the Syrian side, in addition to the bilateral diplomatic relations.
