DGAM calls on archaeological missions to return to work in the country

Damascus, SANA-The Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) announced that it welcomed all archaeological missions that were working in Syria and want to return to work after the victory of the great Syrian revolution and the fall of the former overthrown regime.

In a statement, it stressed the importance of uniting all efforts to preserve Syrian heritage, which represents the common identity of all Syrians, and which was subject to numerous acts of vandalism, destruction and theft at numerous sites.

The Directorate explained that the current stage is important and sensitive in Syria’s history and requires all Syrians and the local and international community to protect this heritage and develop a future vision for recovery.
