Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi called on the Agriculture Ministry to ensure the availability of agricultural production requirements, particularly fertilizer, fuel, and seeds, stressing the need to increase productivity per area.
Chairing a weekly Cabinet meeting, al-Halaqi also called for refraining from exporting any pharmaceutical product unless the local markets’ needs are met first.
He also said that some governmental establishments’ administrative staff suffer from cases of complacency and corruption, calling for reevaluating the performance of administrative staff and replace them when necessary with qualified and honest replacements.
The Cabinet discussed a memo from the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry on the basis for allocating and distributing fuel among provinces, in addition to approving the extending of the decree on procuring the needs of public sector establishments without restrictions.
