Damascus. SANA- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatana discussed Sunday with Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Syria Ahmad Ibrahim Al-Hassan boosting cooperation in the agriculture field and developing bilateral agreements and activating them according to a specific timetable.
Qatana stressed the importance of developing relations between Syria and Sudan, especially in the agriculture field, which is a productive nucleus and a basis for achieving food security, and the need for activating the signed agreements and updating them to suit the next stage, in addition to exchanging the agriculture products, including plant and animal ones, and overcoming all difficulties that hinder shipping operations.
The minister pointed the importance of economic agriculture that achieves sustainable development, not consuming water and natural resources, and amending the plant production plans on this basis.
For his part, the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of Sudan said that Sudan has large areas suitable for diverse agriculture, in addition to the diversity of livestock, noting the importance of developing the signed agreements to serve the interests of the two countries.
