Moscow, SANA – Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed Friday with Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Riyad Haddad issues of the political solution to the crisis in Syria.
Russian Foreign Ministry later issued a statement in which it said the Russian proposal on organizing unofficial contacts between representatives of the Syrian government and the “opposition” in Moscow was touched upon during the talks between Bogdanov and Haddad.
In a recent interview with the Russian news agency TASS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that chances for resuming dialogue on Syria are improving.
