Mikdad offers condolences over passing of Sultan Qaboos at Omani Embassy

Damascus, SANA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad on Monday offered condolences at the Embassy of Oman in Damascus over the passing of Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, wishing the new Omani leadership under Sultan Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said success in following the footsteps of the late Sultan.

Mikdad wrote an entry in the record of condolences, expressing the deepest condolences and sympathies over the passing of Sultan Qaboos who had been leading a comprehensive development campaign since the 1970s, which promoted development and growth in Oman.

The Deputy Minister also praised the late Sultan’s positions regarding the crisis in Syria and his support for it during its war on terrorism, underlining the remarkable relations between the leaders and governments of the two countries.
