Demonstrations in Lebanon continue

Beirut, SANA- Demonstrators in Beirut and a number of areas in south and north Lebanon continued on Friday as the demonstrators cut off several major roads and burnt tires in protest against the deteriorated living conditions and the Lebanese cabinet’s decisions to impose new taxes, including tax on communication.

The protesters attempted to break into the government Headquarters in Beirut as the Lebanese Security Forces fired tears gas to disperse them.

Secretary General of Lebanese Red Cross George Kataneh said that 22 syncope case had been admitted to the hospitals and 70 other cases were treated on the ground, as roads in many areas remain closed till Friday morning and the burning of tires continue.

The Lebanese government announced holding a session by the cabinet on Friday, headed by President Michel Aoun to discuss the situation in the country.
