President al-Assad: Syria is ready to cooperate with international organizations to address humanitarian crisis in Lebanon

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received Tuesday the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Filippo Grandi, and affirmed the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the entire region.

President al-Assad stressed Syria’s readiness to cooperate with international organizations, especially the UNHCR, to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Lebanon despite all the difficulties and challenges facing the country.

Grandi, for his part, praised the measures taken by the Syrian government at border crossings to facilitate the entry of displaced persons, and the standing coordination and cooperation with all international organizations present at the border.

He underlined that this cooperation will continue in order to overcome any obstacles that may impede humanitarian efforts.
