Damascus, SANA- The Budget and Accounts Committee at the People’s Assembly discussed on Monday the 2019 investment budget of Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) that was set at SYP 180 million.
The Committee members focused on the importance of developing and unifying the religious discourse, developing religious education Curricula and following a clear approach regarding Friday sermons.
In turn, Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf), Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, said that the 2018 budget focused on developing Sharia education curricula and documenting and automating religious endowment, adding that imams and preachers are subject to permanent training courses through the National Institute for preparation of Imams and Preachers.
