Foreign Ministry reiterates Syria’s support for Algeria in the face of extremism and terrorism

Damascus, SANA – An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said the Ministry is relieved over the release of the Algerian diplomats who had been abducted by armed takfiri terrorist groups in Mali earlier.

In a statement to SANA on Wednesday, the source said that Syria offers its sincerest condolences to the Algerian government and the families of the Algerians who passed away while being detained in Mali.

The source said that Syria salutes the Algerian government for its refusal to acquiesce to the blackmail of terrorist groups in Mali and its insistence to its positions on combating terrorism, asserting that Syria reiterates its support for the people and government of Algeria in the face of extremism and terrorism which pose a threat to the stability and security of Algeria, Syria, and all countries in the region and the world.
