Arab gold bank to be established in Damascus in 2015

Damascus, SANA – Participants in the inaugural conference of the Arab Union for the Industry and Commerce of Jewelry and Diamond agreed to establish a bank for Arab gold in Damascus with around 6 tons of gold in deposits which will be officially launched in early 2015.

During the conference which was held on Wednesday in Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, head of the newly-established Union Tarek Ayrout said that this Union will for a nucleus for planning and development in Arab economy, and that this development will not only focus on material reconstruction, but also the restoration of Arab values and heritage.

He said the Union is proud to announce that the Arab gold bank will be established in Damascus, the oldest continuously-inhabited capital in the world and the beating heart of Arabism.
