Aleppo Governor, ICRC delegation discuss opening center for manufacturing prosthetics

Aleppo, SANA – Aleppo Governor Mohammad Wahid Aqqad discussed with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) steps taken by the ICRC local office to open a center for manufacturing prosthetic limbs in the province.

Aqqad said that this project will help those who lost their limbs in the events taking place in Syria, asserting the governorate’s readiness to provide all the necessary support to equip this center and launch it as soon as possible.

He also reiterated the governorate commitment to providing humanitarian and health services to all citizens via coordination and cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), lauding the efforts carried out by the ICRC and the UN to help locals.

For his part, assistant director of the ICRC office in Aleppo Gandhi al-Zain reviewed progress in opening the center, noting that this center will be staffed by Syrians after they receive training.
