Damascus, SANA – Minister of Agriculture Dr. Amjad Badr, accompanied by Yamen Al-Shoughari, Director of the Al-Haffa area, and Engineer Abdul Fattah Al-Samar, Director of Agriculture in Lattakia province, inspected on Thursday the agricultural lands in the villages of Jabal Al-Akrad during a field tour on Thursday, within the framework of following up on the damage caused by the recent fires and assessing the reality of the agricultural sector in the region.Minister of Agriculture inspects lands damaged by fires in the northern Lattakia countryside

Minister Badr and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the field conditions in a number of villages, where they measured the extent of the damage to fields and crops caused by the fires that broke out last week, which affected large areas of forests and agricultural lands.

In a related context, the Minister and Lattakia Governor, Mohammed Othman, also held a meeting with the residents of the villages of Jabal al-Akrad to discuss the agricultural situation in the region and ways to support the people.
