Beirut, June 26 (SANA) Three people were killed and two others injured on Friday in southern Lebanon as a result of an Israeli airstrike and the explosion of a war remnant, Lebanese authorities said.

The Lebanese National News Agency, citing the Public Health Emergency Operations Center at the Ministry of Public Health, said an Israeli airstrike hit a car in the town of Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh district, killing two people and injuring another.

In a separate incident in the city of Tyre, one person was killed and another seriously injured when a war remnant exploded in the village of Mansouri.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued operations in southern Lebanon, including bulldozing and setting fire to homes in the village of Markaba in the Marjayoun district, according to local reports.

Despite a ceasefire announced on April 17, Israeli strikes have continued across southern Lebanon, with authorities reporting daily casualties. On Thursday, three people were killed and one was injured in a separate strike in the region.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Thursday that the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 had reached 4,230, with 12,179 injured.
