Beirut, May 20 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes targeted several towns and villages across southern Lebanon on Wednesday, killing at least 12 people, including a Syrian national, and injuring others as rescue operations continued in affected areas.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that 12 people were killed and three others wounded in an Israeli strike on the town of Deir Qanoun. Rescue teams were continuing search operations for people believed trapped beneath the rubble.
In a separate incident, an Israeli drone strike targeted the area between the towns of Kafra and Siddiqin, injuring two people.
Additional air raids struck Ghandouriyeh and Kafra in the Bint Jbeil district, as well as areas between Burj Rahhal, Al-Abbasiyah, Toura and Khirbet Selm.
In the Nabatieh district, Israeli aircraft carried out strikes on the town of Jibsheet, while shelling also hit the vicinity of the International School in Haboush.
Israeli artillery additionally targeted the outskirts of Harouf and Jibsheet, along with the town of Siddiqin in the Tyre district.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, the death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 3,042 killed and 9,301 injured.
