Beirut, June 2 (SANA) Four people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that four people were killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Marwaniyeh in the Sidon district of southern Lebanon.

In a separate incident, three people were injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Bazouriyeh in the Tyre district.

In western Bekaa, explosions were heard after rockets landed in the area between Baaloul and Qaraoun.

Only hours earlier, two people were killed and 23 others wounded in Israeli strikes targeting the city of Tyre and several towns in southern Lebanon.

The attacks came despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement late on Monday of an agreement aimed at reducing tensions and securing a ceasefire in Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the death toll from Israeli strikes on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 3,433, with 10,395 people injured.
