Oil prices rise, gold eases amid renewed Middle East tensions

London, June 3 (SANA) Oil prices rose on Wednesday as renewed tensions in the Middle East fueled concerns over potential supply disruptions, while gold prices edged lower despite continued geopolitical uncertainty.

Brent crude futures gained 1.2% to $97.15 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 1.3% to $94.93 a barrel, according to CNBC.

Market sentiment remained focused on developments in the Middle East, where diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States have shown little progress.

Gold prices, meanwhile, moved lower. Gold futures fell 0.7% to $4,487.20 per ounce, while spot gold declined 0.4% to $4,463.42 per ounce.

The market movements came a day after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces had intercepted Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks launched toward neighboring countries in the Gulf region, adding to concerns over regional stability and energy supplies.
