The talks were held as part of efforts to follow up on the outcomes of the second session of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Coordination Council, which was held in Amman on April 12.

During the second session, the two countries signed nine agreements and memorandums of understanding covering industry, trade, health, higher education, justice, media, tourism and other sectors.

Established in May 2025, the Higher Coordination Council serves as the main framework for bilateral cooperation, with meetings scheduled every six months to coordinate policies and oversee the implementation of joint initiatives through specialized committees.
