IAEA chief says no data on Iran’s underground enrichment site in Isfahan

Vienna, March 18 (SANA) Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on Wednesday that the agency has no information on the status of Iran’s new uranium enrichment facility in Isfahan, located within an underground nuclear complex.

Grossi, who is visiting Washington, D.C., said the facility is underground but has not yet been inspected. He noted that the agency does not know whether it is an empty hall, contains concrete foundations awaiting centrifuges, or already houses installed equipment.

Iran had informed the IAEA of the new facility in June, and inspectors were dispatched to Isfahan at the time. However, the visit was canceled after the nuclear complex was struck during the war with Israel.

Iran’s main uranium enrichment sites include the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan, the Fordow nuclear facility near Qom, the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center, the Khondab reactor, and the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
